10/10 Would Recommend ADV 4310
I learned a lot this semester in ADV 4310; and from the knowledge gained, I know I will be ready for any career field in advertising and marketing.
Firstly, I want to touch on the Certification the professor required the class to get in place of tests. This was an ingenious idea and I hope more professors adapt their classes to this type of real-world testing. I was able to gain first knowledge with Google Ads Search, Display, and Analytics. I also got a certification from Hubspot on Inbound where I learned about CPA. The opportunity to take certifications that will apply to my future profession is indispensable and rare.
In addition to that, for 10 weeks my professor required the class to write a weekly blog reflecting on that week's lesson and guest lecturers. Being able to reflect on what was covered in class, was a great way for me to grasp the material and apply it to real-world scenarios.
Overall, my favorite blog topic to write about was the goals and objectives of digital marketers. I titled this blog "The Pillars of Digital Marketing." This is because after researching the topic, I felt that the SMART goals (specific, attainable, measurable, relevant, and time-bound) are what every digital marketer should operate by.
I also really valued the guest lecturers that gave presentations on their specific fields of work. My favorite lecturer was a Digital Designer at Qgiv. He was able to dive deep into the User Experience (UX) and its relationship with empathy, heuristics, and mobile design. I valued this lecture because my group used material from his lecture in our final group project.
